Called coilovers a gimmick for 2 years, then a track day in Phoenix made me eat my words

I always figured coilovers were just for stance kids who wanted to dump the car and scrape speed bumps. My buddy kept pushing me to get a set for my 2016 Mustang, saying the handling difference was night and day. Finally tried a basic set at a track day out in Phoenix last month, and the cornering stability was unreal. Now I'm debating if it was the suspension or just that the old springs were shot, has anyone else had this flip on them?
