Am I the only one who thought those cheap ebay coilover sleeves were a scam?

I picked up a set of generic sleeve coilovers for my 2003 Civic for $85 shipped back in March thinking there was no way they would last. Honestly the ride is stiff but not terrible, and 5 months later they are still holding up fine with no leaks on the stock struts. My buddy at the shop in Dayton told me they would blow out in a week but here we are. I know real coilovers are way better but for a daily beater on a budget they did the job. Has anyone else run these long term and had them actually fail?

$85 shipped for a full set?? That's wild, I paid more than that just for one replacement strut on my old Accord. Five months on stock struts with no leaks is honestly impressive, most people I know blew theirs out within weeks of slapping sleeves on worn factory shocks. Part of me wonders if the roads out in Dayton are just smooth enough to baby them, cause around here the potholes would eat those things alive.
