Vent: My buddy said to always check the drain pump filter first on a front loader that won't drain
He was right, but I spent an hour yesterday pulling the back off a Whirlpool to check the pump motor before I even looked at the filter. It was packed with a sock and some coins. What's the dumbest simple fix you've ever missed because you overthought it?

That "check the filter first" advice is solid. I used to assume a pump failure was a motor or belt issue, but after finding a clogged filter full of pet hair on my own machine, I learned to start with the simple stuff. It saves so much time.

My uncle wasted a whole weekend checking filters when his pump belt was actually snapped.
