The 2,000th ice maker repair surprised me more than I expected
I hit 2,000 ice maker service calls last week, which sounds like a lot until you realize it's basically one third of my total jobs over 11 years. What caught me off guard was how many were the same $18 water inlet valve failing, not the fancy control boards. Anyone else track their most common failure part and find it's always something boring?

Track the same thing on my end. It's always the cheap inlet valve or a bad float switch, never the pricey boards. People hate hearing the fix is 20 bucks in parts plus labor. Boring parts fail way more than fancy ones, every single time.
