That Samsung fridge that ate my compressor after 14 months
I had a Samsung fridge I installed for a customer back in April 2022 and the compressor died just 14 months later. Customer called me saying it stopped cooling and I figured it was a bad start relay, but when I got there the compressor was locked up tight. Tried a hard start kit and nothing. Learned that Samsung had a bad batch of linear compressors around that time. Now I tell people to get a three year warranty or skip Samsung altogether if they can. Any of you guys run into this with the 2021 models?

Got a buddy who installed a 2021 Samsung in his own house. Sixteen months in, the compressor gave up and his freezer started acting like a fancy cooler. He spent two weekends pulling his hair out thinking it was a control board issue. After I told him about the metal shavings thing, he finally checked and yep, same problem. Samsung did cover it under the extended warranty but it still took three weeks to get the part and another week for a tech to come out. His milk went bad and he ate takeout for a month, so that free repair wasn't exactly free.

Had the exact same problem with a 2021 model I installed. Pulled the compressor and found metal shavings in the oil. Tell your customer to call Samsung anyways, they extended the warranty on those linear compressors to 5 years even if the original was only 1 year. Saved my client about $1200.
