That $60 Bosch dishwasher control board was a complete dud out of the box
I bought a brand new control board for a Bosch dishwasher on a job in Cleveland last Wednesday. Installed it, powered it on, and nothing but a blank screen and no response at all. Took me an hour to trace the wiring and test voltages before I finally gave up and swapped it with a used one from my van. The used one fired right up first try. Has anyone else gotten DOA parts straight from the distributor and how do you handle the return without losing a whole day?

Did your buddy have any luck getting a refund on that board? I had a friend who bought a control board for a fridge last year, dead on arrival, and the distributor tried to blame him for installing it wrong.

Boards DOA and blamed on installation is definitely frustrating" is a tough spot. But to play the other side, a lot of those boards are really sensitive to static or bad wiring, so a distributor has to protect themselves. If your friend can show photos of the installation looking clean and the board not being physically damaged, they should have a good case for a refund.
