PSA: Stop using WD-40 on dishwasher spray arms
I swear I see this at least once a week now. People come in with a dishwasher thats not spinning right and they say they sprayed the arms with WD-40 to 'loosen them up'. That stuff is a solvent and it eats away the plastic bearings inside the spray arm hub. Had a guy last Tuesday bring in a Bosch he doused three times and now the whole lower arm assembly needs replacing. Just use a little silicone grease or even dish soap if you need lube in there. Anybody else running into this nonsense regularly?

Honestly this drives me nuts too. Tbh I had a neighbor who did the same thing on his Whirlpool last month and now the spray arm wobbles like crazy because the plastic hub got all chewed up from the solvent eating it. Ngl I think people just hear "WD-40 fixes everything" and don't realize it's not actually a lubricant in the long run, it's more of a cleaner that dries out and leaves gunk. I told my buddy to just use a drop of silicone grease on the spindle and now it spins smooth again without costing him a whole new arm assembly. Really wish manufacturers put a big warning sticker on the inside door or something.
