My label maker jammed on a Fridgidaire model 3 days ago. I was in the middle of a rush job in Austin and the tape wound itself into a mess inside the machine.

It was a cheap old Brother model Ive had for years, but I had to stop and pry out the ribbon with a tiny screwdriver. That tape was stuck tight, took me about 15 minutes to get it running again. Anyone have a go to label maker that doesn't do this?

Oh man, have you ever tried feeding a stuck ribbon back in with tweezers while balancing the label maker on one knee? That was me last Tuesday, looking like a surgeon working on a toy robot. My old Brother jammed so bad I ended up ordering a used Dymo 450 off eBay for 20 bucks, and so far it’s been smooth sailing. I bet that Frigidaire tape is cursed or something, glad you got yours pried open without losing a fingernail.

Did you have to mess with any tape alignment issues on that Dymo or did it pretty much work right out of the box? I've heard mixed things about the used ones on eBay.
