Finally found the hidden sensor test mode on a Samsung washer at a laundromat in Austin
Punched in the service code while waiting for my own load and it showed the drain pump was failing at 0.3 amps instead of the normal 0.8, has anyone else used that trick to catch issues early?

Yeah that test mode is clutch for catching a drain pump before it fully quits.

Used to think those service codes were just for repair guys to upsell you on a new board. But I tried it on my old Samsung at home after reading about it on a forum. Found the drain pump pulling 0.4 amps, replaced it for 20 bucks instead of waiting for it to lock up mid cycle. Changed my mind real quick. That test mode actually saved me from having to haul a soaked load to the laundromat.
