Drum roll of shame after 3 attic jobs this week
Third dryer install in a row with a bad drum bearing. Customer in Tucson had a squeal so loud the neighbor knocked. I swapped the bearing in 40 minutes, but the old one left metal dust all over the motor housing. Then the vent hose had a bird nest in it, took another 20 to clear. Felt like amateur hour, but the fix held. Anyone else seeing a run of the same failure on one model?

Caught my buddy Dave bitching about the same thing last week. He had three Whirlpool dryers in a row with the rear drum support wearing down to bare metal. On the third one he found the belt had flipped and was grinding into the housing, left a groove you could fit a quarter in. He said it took him an hour just to clean all the shavings out of the blower wheel.
