Discovered a 5 dollar part that fixed a 30 year old dryer rattle
Had a customer in Phoenix with a Whirlpool from the early 90s, loud metallic rattle that drove them nuts. I figured it was the drum rollers, but after pulling the whole back panel off, it turned out to be a loose idler pulley bracket. The fix was a 5 dollar spacer washer kit I found at a local PartsZone, not the 90 dollar roller assembly I almost ordered. Took about 20 minutes to shim the bracket and the rattle was gone completely. Has anyone else run into a simple washer or spacer fixing what seemed like a major drum issue?
