A guy at my parts counter in Toledo asked why I still test compressor windings by hand
He was picking up a start relay last Tuesday and noticed my meter sitting on the bench with jumper leads still hooked up. He told me his shop moved to clamp meters on the run winding two seasons back and cut misdiagnosed compressors by half. I've been doing it the old way for 11 years so now I'm wondering if I'm just wasting time. What setup are you all running for a quick go/no-go on a sealed system?
