A customer's email about a leaky dishwasher changed my drain line routine

They sent photos showing backflow into the rinse cup, and after 3 houses with the same Samsung model I stopped using the factory clip and now zip tie the drain line up 12 inches before the disposal, has anyone else found a better fix for that model?

Skip the zip ties. I mean, I've seen drain lines on those Samsungs fail when they're held too high too. The pump on that model is way stronger than people give it credit for, and if you crank it up that high you can actually force water past the check valve on the rinse cup. Plus those zip ties dig into the line over time and you end up with a pinhole leak that's way worse than backflow. I found if you just keep the factory clip but make sure the line has a smooth bend instead of a tight kink, it stops the siphoning without the extra hardware. Maybe it's just me but I've had less callbacks doing it that way than messing with the height. And honestly, if the line's already flooded back, I'd rather replace the whole hose than trust any clip job.
