Watched a welding robot at a trade show in Detroit mess up a seam, and it made me rethink AI in my shop
I was at a manufacturing expo in Detroit back in March and stood there for 20 minutes watching this AI powered welding arm work on a demo piece. It kept adjusting itself in real time based on the seam and I realized the AI wasn't just following a program, it was actually sensing and correcting like a person would. Has anyone here tried using AI vision systems for small scale shop work, or is it still too pricey for a 2 person operation?
