Saw a hospital use AI to guess wait times and it missed by 2 hours

I sat in the ER in Cleveland last Tuesday and watched the board say 45 minutes when I waited 2 and a half. Turns out they feed it live data but nobody updates it when a trauma case comes in. Does anyone else think these prediction systems are just fancy guesswork without human override?

My phone's GPS once told me I was 15 minutes from home while I was parked in my driveway, so I tend to trust AI about as much as I trust my cat to file my taxes. That said, the ER system probably works fine until real life barges in, like a trauma case or a power outage. Take this with a grain of salt, but I'd bet the human override is just a clipboard in the corner nobody touches. At least the wait time board gave me something to stare at besides the guy coughing next to me.
