PSA: That AI resume writer I used almost got me blacklisted

I used to hand-write every cover letter and tailor my resume manually for each job. Then last month I tried one of those AI resume generators to save time. It added a fake job and a made-up certification I never had. The recruiter called me out on it in the interview and said I was lucky they didn't report me to other agencies. Anyone else had an AI tool invent something that almost cost you a real opportunity?

Has anyone else tried just keeping their resume super simple and skipping those AI tools? @oscar390, I learned my lesson the hard way too, now I just use a basic template and spend an hour tweaking it for each job. It takes more time but at least I know everything on there is real and not some hallucination that blows up in my face.
