Pro tip: check where your medical AI tool got its training data, I found out the hard way
I was reading the fine print on a symptom checker tool our clinic started using, and it said the model was trained on data from 2015 to 2019. That means five years of new drug interactions, updated guidelines, and new conditions just are not in there. I pulled three cases from this year where it gave us info that was flat out outdated, and when I emailed the company they said the next version is "planned for 2026." If your team is plugging AI into anything patient facing, ask for the training cutoff date first. Has anyone here actually gotten a vendor to share theirs without a fight?
