Overheard a guy at the auto parts store talking about AI checking his car's engine codes
I was grabbing some degreaser yesterday and this dude next to me was telling the clerk his check engine light came on. He said he plugged in one of those cheap OBD2 scanners, but instead of just getting a code, the app used AI to compare his symptoms with thousands of other car owners with the same model. It told him it was probably a failing oxygen sensor based on his gas mileage drop and the fact he lived in a humid area. That got me thinking about how this kind of pattern matching is way more useful than just spitting out a code number. I work with heavy equipment on job sites sometimes and I wonder if the same tech could help diagnose a concrete pump or a mixer before it fully breaks down. The guy said he saved a hundred bucks on a shop diagnostic fee just from that one suggestion. Has anyone else run into AI being used this way for everyday gear maintenance?

Probably a failing oxygen sensor" - like AI needed to tell us humidity causes problems.

Wait wait wait, @rowangonzalez, did you say AI? People are actually using AI to diagnose car problems now? Next thing you know they'll have ChatGPT changing my oil.
