My grocery store's checkout lines got 40% faster after they added AI cameras, and I timed it
I shop at the same Kroger in Columbus every Sunday and for the past two months the self-checkout has been noticeably faster. I finally timed it last week: my usual 12 items took 1 minute 50 seconds, down from about 3 minutes back in June. A store manager told me they installed overhead AI cameras that spot when an item isn't scanned, so the machine doesn't lock up waiting for a worker anymore. Has anyone else noticed their local store speeding up like this, or is it just mine?
