My buddy the data scientist was wrong about training AI on synthetic data
He said feeding it AI-generated text would be fine, but after 50 cycles the outputs turned into gibberish - has anyone else seen their model degrade like that?

Nah, I've seen it work fine for way more cycles than that.

People always talk about cycle count like it's the only thing that matters but nobody looks at charge voltage. Running those cycles at 4.2V vs 4.4V makes a huge difference over time. Check the actual voltage curve data from tests and you'll see the degradation kicks in way faster at higher voltages. Most manufacturers cap it around 4.35V now for a reason. Cycle count is just one piece of the puzzle, voltage and temperature are just as important.
