My boss told me to stop 'over-prompting' the AI tool at work lol
I work in marketing and I was writing these super long AI prompts with like 10 different instructions. My boss pulls me aside last Tuesday and says 'dude, the AI doesn't need a life story, just tell it what you want in 2 sentences.' I tried his way for a blog post and it actually came out way better, not all bloated and weird. Has anyone else had to un-learn how they talk to these things?

You said "10 different instructions" and that's actually part of the problem. The AI works better when you give it one clear goal instead of a list of demands that fight each other. Have you tried writing your prompt as a simple sentence about what you want the final result to sound like?

Question whether it's really that serious though, @alice445. I mean maybe it works fine for simple stuff like writing a tweet but for anything more complex you kind of need those extra instructions to steer it right. Idk, seems like oversimplifying might just trade one set of problems for another.
