I finally learned the hard way about AI transcription billing

Last month I paid $87 for an AI meeting transcription service and it quietly re-billed me for three more months before I noticed. The catch was that it counted every participant as a separate 'meeting hour,' so a 30 minute call with 4 people used up 2 hours of my plan. I only caught it when my credit card statement showed $348 in total charges, which really stung for a freelancer budget. Has anyone else had surprise charges from these subscription tools, and what do you use that bills per actual recording instead?
