Had a brutal week with AI translation tools on a client project
Last Wednesday I was working on a big localization job for a retail client in Austin. I used a GPT powered translation API to handle product descriptions for 500 Spanish listings. It got maybe 60% right but the rest had tone issues and some were just flat out wrong like 'cama para perros' turned into 'bed for dogs' which is fine but then it translated 'dog bed' as 'perro cama' on another listing. I spent 48 hours fixing everything manually. Has anyone else run into these weird inconsistencies with AI translation tools?

Man that sounds like a complete nightmare with the dog bed mixup.

200 bucks for a dog bed that got chewed up by the wrong dog before I even got home. @thomasm41 I guess the real nightmare was my wallet finding out it wasn't covered under "puppy proof." At least the lab looked cozy while I was stuck cleaning up foam.
