Rant: My neighbor painted his fence to look like a USB cable

Last Tuesday I walked out to grab my mail and saw my neighbor Bob mid-project on his front fence. He had painted three thick stripes, black, blue, and silver, going all the way down, with a big rectangular block at the end. Took me a solid minute to realize he was trying to make it look like a giant USB plug. He told me he wanted it to look "connected to the city grid" and spent about $60 on special metallic paint. I get being creative but his wife came out and asked if he was painting a barcode. Has anyone else seen a paint job that made zero sense from the street but the owner swears it's genius?

Honestly, people get so weird about their property sometimes. Tbh, I don't see the harm in a fence that looks like a USB stick, even if it's a bit much. The real issue here is that Bob spent $60 on paint for a joke only he gets, and his wife thinks it's a barcode. Like, that's a conversation you should have before you start painting, not after. But also, who cares? It's a fence, not a monument. If he's happy staring at his giant plug every morning, let him have it. The city grid comment is a little unhinged though, ngl. I'd just wave and keep walking, maybe ask if he's got a charger for my phone next time.
