The tiny sticker on my fruit that exposed my whole grocery system

I've been buying the same bagged salad mix for 2 years and never checked the actual weight, just grabbed the first bag on the shelf. My roommate finally pointed out that the price per pound was way higher than loose greens, and I did the math, I was overpaying by about $1.40 each trip. Anyone else ever discover they've been ignoring a dumb label fact that changes a weekly habit?

The sticker only shows PLU, but the true cost bomb is the bag itself. Those pre-washed mixes are mostly air and water weight, and the bag traps moisture so you're paying for the water they spray in to keep it looking fresh. Next time, squeeze the bag before you grab it, the heavy ones are literally soaking wet. I started shaking mine out over the sink and a good third of the weight evaporates before it even hits the bowl.
