Picked the 3 hour documentary over the 90 minute action movie, best call I made this week

My buddy wanted to watch the new spy thriller Tuesday night but I pushed for that deep dive on the Roman aqueducts instead, figured I could nap through the slow parts. Ended up completely hooked for all 180 minutes and now I'm Googling concrete recipes at 11pm. Anyone else ever choose the boring sounding option and end up way more invested than you thought you'd be?

That’s the thing about the “boring” picks, they sneak up on you. I did the same with a four hour doc about the silk road last winter, figured I’d have it on in the background while cleaning. Next thing I know, I’m rewinding parts and taking notes like it’s a class I signed up for. The action movie would’ve been loud and done, but the aqueduct one probably changed how you look at every old bridge you drive past now. Plus, concrete recipes at 11pm is a solid rabbit hole, way better than scrolling your phone. Once you find the one weird topic that clicks, it’s hard to go back to the flashy stuff.
