Learned the hard way about caulk matching on white siding
A regular on this forum told me to test any caulk color on a hidden spot first, but I went straight to a crack on my front panel at the house in Columbus. Now there's a slightly yellowish strip where I patched it, even though both looked identical in the tube. What do you use to blend in a mismatched patch without redoing the whole repair?

Caulk on white siding is a nightmare for this exact reason, I've heard the pigment settles differently once it cures even if the tube looks fine. Try a stain-blocking primer on just that strip, then hit it with a matching exterior paint if you have any leftover. If you don't have paint, a damp rag with a little mineral spirits can sometimes lift the outer layer if it's still fresh, but that's a gamble. Otherwise, you're looking at scraping that bead out and redoing it with a pure white acrylic that's labeled for siding, which is honestly the move if you want it to disappear.
