Bought a 1952 church cookbook for $3 and the pie section reads like a diary

Last month I grabbed a spiral-bound cookbook at a yard sale in Portland, it was put together by a Lutheran women's group. The first 20 pages are all handwritten notes about who brought what to potlucks, like 'Mrs. Halverson's lemon meringue disappeared in 10 minutes.' Three years ago I would've just flipped through for recipes, but now I honestly read the margin scribbles more than the actual ingredient lists. This one has a note next to a cherry pie that says 'do not serve if arguing with the pastor's wife,' which is oddly specific. Has anyone else found little community dramas written inside old cookbooks, or is my find just extra weird?

My grandma's 1974 Junior League cookbook has a handwritten note in the margin next to a deviled eggs recipe that just says 'Carol ruins these every time.' Carol was her sister-in-law, and it's still the only thing I know about Carol besides the fact she ruined deviled eggs.
