My LED panel flickered mid-interview at a Tampa wedding shoot

The bride's vows were rolling and the Aputure started strobing like a bad club light, so I switched to a window bounce and ruined the color grade, has anyone else had a budget light die at the worst possible moment in an event?

Keep the battery packs and the actual light head on separate hands when you're packing the car. Most people toss the whole kit in one bag and the vibration during the drive can loosen the pins inside the connector. That's happened to me twice with an Aputure, always at the worst second. The fix is cheap, just grab some electrical tape and wrap the joint where the cable plugs in. Also, that window bounce might have saved you more than you think, the natural light usually looks better than a cheap panel anyway. But yeah, check those connectors before every gig, takes thirty seconds and saves you from that exact panic.

Eh, tape just makes it worse when you actually need to swap heads mid-shoot.
