The 120-year-old mummy at the Cairo Museum still has fingernails

I was so sure that was fake when my tour guide said it. Like yeah sure, a body from 1903 still has nails after all that time. Then I got close to the case and saw them. It's wild what mummification actually preserves. Has anyone else seen something at a museum that made you call BS at first but was totally real?

Stood there for like five minutes just staring at those tiny little nails. My brain kept telling me there's no way something that fragile survives 120 years, but there they were, perfectly attached to the fingers. It honestly creeped me out a little because it makes the person feel less like a museum exhibit and more like someone who just fell asleep. I've seen tons of ancient stuff before, bones and pottery and all that, but nails hit different for some reason. Made me wonder what else we're completely wrong about when it comes to what ancient people managed to preserve.
