A breakdown manual saved my road trip in Arizona
Last month my RV died near Flagstaff and I had zero signal. The 1998 Chilton manual in the glovebox got us through a fuel pump swap, and I paired it with 'The Martian' for the wait. Anyone else read a mechanic's guide next to a survival story?

Hell yeah, that hits home! Two summers ago my truck died outside Moab. No parts store for 60 miles. But I had this old Haynes manual under the seat and a beat-up copy of Endurance. Spent the whole day swapping a cracked belt while reading about Shackleton. Nothing beats fixing your own rig while reading about dudes freezing their butts off. The manual kept my hands busy, and that book kept my head on straight. Best dang road trip repair day I ever had.
