My cat sat on a 1987 lease agreement and suddenly I understood it
I was going through old paperwork from a property I managed in 2019 and my cat hopped right on top of this dense 14-page commercial lease, like he was studying it. He stayed there for 20 minutes staring at the fine print, and I actually noticed a clause about automatic renewal I'd missed every single time. Does anyone else's pet ever sit on something and make you see it in a totally new light?

Point out that the cat probably wasn't the real genius here. The lease was sitting in a pile of old paperwork for years, and you only looked at it because the cat made it weird. That's the thing about routine, you stop seeing what's right in front of you. I had a dog lie on a warranty form once and I finally read the part about filing claims within 10 days of purchase, which I'd blown past three times. Pets don't change the document, they just break your usual pattern of skimming over it. So really, the cat did you a favor by being an inconvenient paperweight.
