The $30 Facebook ad guru who told me to ignore aesthetics was actually right

I spent 8 months tweaking my Shopify store's design in Austin, then this random guy in a Facebook group said 'your product photos look like every other dropshipping store, just run the ad and let data speak' so I stopped obsessing and launched with boring images, and my cost per purchase dropped from $18 to $9 in three days, has anyone else found that ignoring the pretty stuff is the real shortcut?

Shook my head reading that $18 to $9 in three days. That's not a small change, that's a whole different game. I spent weeks on my own store fiddling with fonts and colors, and my first ads flopped hard. Then I just threw up the raw product shots my supplier sent me, no edits, and the numbers actually got better. Makes me wonder how many of us are just polishing stuff that nobody cares about. It's like we're decorating a house while the foundation is already on fire.
