I ditched my big email tool for plain spreadsheets, no regrets
I ran a little side gig selling digital planners and used Mailchimp for 2 years. Last month I hit my free limit and the paid plan was $60 a month, which is way too much for 300 subscribers. I switched to a simple Google Sheet with a mail merge add-on that cost me $9 for the year. It sends everything slower and looks less fancy, but I can see exactly who opened what without their silly dashboards. The thing that convinced me was when my open rate actually went up 15% because the emails look more personal, less like a template. Has anyone else downsized their marketing stack and seen better results, or am I just cheap?

Cheaper and better results is the dream combo. Honestly that's a win-win.
