Scored a 1920s diary in Spokane and the owner's huntsman note was dead on

Picked up this old diary from a yard sale on the south side of Spokane for like 8 bucks, written by some rancher's wife in 1924. She wrote on the inside cover, 'If you think you know weather, wait an hour.' Sure enough, that afternoon a dust storm rolled in out of nowhere and wrecked my plans to photograph the wheat fields. I normally ignore those margin notes people leave in old books, but this one had exact dates of storms matching local records. Has anyone else found a random scribble or handwritten caution in a used find that actually paid off for real life?

Grandma wrote 'check the crankcase oil' in an old Ford manual I bought, saved my engine last winter.
