That $450 flat fee for a simple eviction felt like a scam
My landlord charged me $450 to have his lawyer file an eviction notice, but I handled all the tenant communication myself and the tenant left within 5 days. The lawyer literally just emailed a PDF and showed up to one hearing where nobody contested anything. Has anyone else been told they need a local lawyer for something this simple, and how did you push back without burning the relationship?

$450 felt like a scam" because it was. Next time, ask for itemized billing upfront. I did, saved $200.
