My whole view on home gyms flipped after a month without weights

I used to be all about having a full rack of dumbbells and a bench at home, thinking that was the only way to get a real workout. Back in the day, I'd save up for every piece of gear, convinced bodyweight stuff was just for warm-ups. Then, last year, I had to travel for work and stayed in a tiny apartment with zero equipment. Out of boredom, I followed a simple routine with just push-ups, squats, and planks. Honestly, after a few weeks, I felt more toned and agile than I had in ages, lol. It made me realize how much I overcomplicated things before. Now, I still use my weights sometimes, but I mix in bodyweight days and feel way more balanced. Looking back, I wish I hadn't wasted so much money and space on gear I didn't really need.

Oh man, I had the EXACT same thing happen to me! I dumped so much cash into a home setup thinking it was the only REAL way to train. Then I got stuck at my dad's place with zero gear and just used a chair and the floor for a month. My strength shot up in ways the weights never did, it was a total eye opener. Now I swap between both and feel a HUGE difference, way more flexible and less achey.

Guess my fancy gear just collects dust now, huh.

Exactly! I read an article about how a lot of professional athletes actually train with very simple stuff, like ropes and their own body weight. It really backs up what @the_william is saying about getting stronger in different ways. Sometimes the fancy gear just overcomplicates the basic movement.
