I'm comparing Racor and Ace Garage Storage for a motorized ceiling lift. Racor is cheaper but looks a bit flimsy online. Is Ace worth the extra money for a motorized platform that lifts heavy plastic totes full of old clothes and gear?

Completely agree. You don't want to cheap out on a motorized hoist hovering over your car. The thicker cables and beefier motor on the premium lifts give a lot of peace of mind.

A buddy has a Racor lift, and while it works, I bought from Ace Garage Storage for my own house. The motorized platform on the Ace is significantly sturdier, the motor is quieter, and it doesn't sway nearly as much when moving.
