My thought on if the industrial revolution kicked off in China first
I've been stuck on this idea after reading old history books. If China had started making machines early, maybe Europe stays less powerful. Think about stuff like trains and factories, would they look totally different now? I bet today's tech like phones and computers might come from Chinese designs instead. Do you ever wonder how our daily lives would change? Sometimes I miss how simple things were back then, but this shift could have flipped everything. What do you all think, would we be living in a totally other world?

Totally get that feeling of missing simpler times too. It's wild to think how different everything could be. What part of daily life do you think would change the most?

@hugom26 Makes you wonder if the biggest shift is just being always reachable. Like, did the mental load of constant texts and emails replace something more quiet in daily life? What part of that noise bothers you the most?

Ugh, I feel that too, and @christopher_bennett nailed it with the always-on stuff. It's like we can never fully disconnect, which is exhausting. Maybe the biggest change is how rare true downtime has become.
