I finally hiked by myself instead of with my usual crew.
I tackled the Maple Loop trail alone last weekend (a first for me). One side says solo hikes offer quiet reflection, while the other argues groups provide security. Which do you find better for most trails?

Felt that same mix of nerves and freedom on my first solo hike to Eagle Peak. Suddenly, every rustle in the bushes was MY problem to figure out, not a group debate. That silence between your own footsteps lets you notice tiny details, like spiderwebs glinting in the sun. Groups are great for safety and jokes, but solo trips forge a different kind of strength. You proved you can handle the trail alone, and that's a BIG deal. Trust that feeling it gave you.

Solo hikes build real confidence that group trips never provide. You learn to trust your own judgment when it's just you and the trail.

Seems a bit over the top. Group hikes can teach you to trust others and work together, which is also valuable. Idk, maybe both solo and group trips have their own perks.
