Question about stubborn brassy tones on level 7 lifts

Tried a 10 volume developer with a violet additive for 15 minutes after the main process. Anyone have a different formula for that orange band?

Ugh, is that orange band the most stubborn thing ever or what? I swear I've stared at my own hair in that exact spot after a lift and felt personally attacked. I've had some luck mixing a tiny bit of a blue-based ash demi into a conditioner and letting it sit on just that band for like five minutes. It's a bit of a guessing game, but it can knock down the brass without making the rest look muddy.

My bathroom mirror saw some things during my last color correction, I mean it was rough. The blue ash demi trick is a lifesaver for sure, even if it feels like a science experiment every time.

Oh man, that orange band is the worst. It reminds me of when I tried to fix my own roots with a box dye and ended up with a literal stripe of neon tangerine. Had to wear a hat for a week.
