Blending a tricky color. Realized our mixing ratios are just guesswork.

Typical. Seen this with house paint. You think you've got the formula right, then it dries totally different. I tried matching a client's bathroom beige once. The tiny sample chip looked perfect, but a whole wall looked straight up pink. Had to buy three test pots to get it right. That's why you always test on a big board first, in the actual room light. Even then, sometimes the base paint batch changes everything. It's never as simple as the numbers say.

Ever notice how wall texture changes the color too?

Feel your pain, @kelly_ramirez96. Tried to match a sage green once and it dried this weird mint color on the wall. Had to redo the whole room with a different brand. Honestly, lighting changes everything, just like you said.
