Shoutout to the client who patiently walked me through a tricky scope mounting issue

Seriously doubt it's that big a deal. Seen plenty of scopes slapped on with basic tools that hold zero just fine. Unless you're doing some extreme long range stuff, a tiny bit off probably won't matter for most shots. People overthink this stuff. It's just screws and rings.

A 'tricky scope mounting issue' (come on) can't be that serious, right?

Actually, let me jump in here because this is one of those things that seems small until it isn't. If the scope isn't mounted just right, even a tiny bit off, your zero can walk after a few shots. I've seen guys at the range spend hours trying to figure out why their groups are all over the place, and it often comes back to how the rings were tightened. Temperature changes can make metals expand or contract, so a mount that seemed fine in the shop might loosen up in the field. That's not just annoying, it can mean missing a clean shot or worse, having the scope come loose completely. So yeah, it can be pretty serious if you care about where your bullet goes.
