TIL that my missing hour in Prague wasn't just jet lag

I used to think my lost hour in Prague was just jet lag. Then I saw my friend's picture with a clock that wasn't there when I looked. Changed my mind completely.

Actually, the psychology of false memories might explain this. Our brains can fill gaps with wrong details, especially when tired or in new places. I read about how crime witnesses often remember things that weren't there. A missing clock your friend saw could be your mind editing the scene later.

Yeah, like that time I swore I left my keys on the counter.

Hold on, @simonsingh, but false memories don't explain EVERYTHING. Sometimes things ACTUALLY change or we just miss details when we're not paying attention. Like that clock, maybe it was always there but your friend looked away too fast. I've read stories where people remember things perfectly under pressure, so brains aren't always wrong.
