Just spent $150 on a ghost hunting app that showed me my own reflection
I bought this 'EVP recorder' app after seeing ads that promised real spirit voices. For three nights I sat in my apartment in Phoenix asking questions into the dark, convinced the garbled static was answers. Turns out the 'voices' were just picking up feedback from my phone's own mic, basically recording me talking to myself. Has anyone else fallen for tech that pretends to show the paranormal?

Remember reading about those "ghost radar" apps that got popular a few years back. The whole thing runs on random number generators making dots on a screen, but people would see patterns and totally believe it. Tech that feeds on our want to believe is a whole genre now. Makes you wonder how many "haunted" photos are just lens flare from a phone camera.

Garbled static" got me too with a thermal camera app that showed "cold spots" in my house. It was just picking up drafts from my AC vents.
