Serious question, why does everyone hate on vinyl glazing?

Last week in a Denver high rise, I had to replace a failed unit. Everyone says vinyl is cheap junk. But three years ago, I put vinyl in my own sunroom. Zero issues. Last month, a client in Boulder wanted vinyl for his garage windows. They look fine, work fine. Maybe the old stuff was bad, but the new stuff holds up. Anyone else using it without problems?

Isn't it funny how things get a bad name and it just sticks forever? I see this all the time, not just with windows. People hear one story about something being bad years ago and just repeat it like it's still true. New stuff gets better, but old opinions hang on. Your vinyl works fine because they probably fixed the old problems.

Totally, I swear my old car's reputation was way worse than it actually was too.
