My uncle told me to always use a diamond blade for tempered glass and I thought he was just being extra
He said it last year when I was helping him with a storefront job in Springfield. I figured my regular abrasive blade was fine to save a few bucks. Cut to last month when I tried to trim a piece of tempered for a shower door and my blade just burned out, leaving a chipped edge. He was totally right, the diamond one went through it smooth with no heat cracks. Anyone have a favorite brand for their wet saw?

Read a forum post once where a guy said the same thing about the heat build-up from regular blades.

Yeah, that heat thing is a real issue with the solid blades. I remember reading a test where a guy measured the surface temp after just a few minutes of use. It got hot enough to be uncomfortable on your skin, almost like a warning. That extra heat can really irritate your face, especially if you have sensitive skin. It makes the whole shave feel harsh and can lead to more redness. The design just traps warmth against your face in a bad way.
