A talk with my wife about glass recycling changed my mind
She works at our town's recycling plant and told me, "We crush about 60% of the donated window glass because it's contaminated with sealant." I always told customers we couldn't recycle their old units, assuming the plant handled it. Now I see we need to strip the glass clean before it even leaves the job site. How do you all handle disposal for big commercial tear-outs?

That's a fair point, but I'm not sure methane from glass is really the big worry people make it out to be. Glass is basically sand, so even in a landfill it's not like it's breaking down and releasing huge amounts of gas like food waste would. @the_abby I get the concern about extra toxins, but are we talking about a meaningful amount here or just something that sounds bad on paper?
