My old phone died at the worst time and I had to buy a new one in a hurry
I was at the airport in Denver waiting for a flight when my Pixel 4a just shut off and wouldn't turn back on. I had to run to a store and grab the first phone I saw, which was a Samsung Galaxy A54, and I've been using it for two months now. It made me realize how much I relied on online reviews before, but this time I just had to go with my gut and it actually worked out fine. Has anyone else been forced to pick a gadget without any research and been surprised by the result?

Ever buy something just because the box looked good? I grabbed a cheap pair of wireless earbuds that way at a gas station, and they lasted way longer than I thought they would. Sometimes you just get lucky.

What gas station did you find those at? I did the same thing with a phone charger from a truck stop. The packaging made it look like a solid brand, but I was sure it would die in a week. That thing lasted over a year before the cable finally gave out. It's such a good feeling when a random buy actually works out. Makes you wonder how many decent cheap things we pass by.

My buddy got a knockoff watch from a flea market cause the case looked fancy. That thing kept perfect time for like three years before the strap broke.
