I finally told my neighbor why I skip the latest fitness trackers

All my coworkers rave about how their new fitness trackers are a must-have, but I just don't agree. My neighbor got one recently and she's always checking it, even during our talks. Last week, she missed what I said because she was staring at her step count on her wrist. It reminds me of my brother who got so caught up in his heart rate data that he stopped enjoying his runs. I think these gadgets can make people too focused on numbers instead of just feeling good. They have their uses, but for me, the constant tracking takes the fun out of being active. So I told her I'm happy with my old watch that just tells time.

Okay but her missing a sentence isn't the end of the world. How SERIOUS can a wrist gadget really be? People get into new things for a bit.

Changed my mind after it flagged a real problem.
